From the Registry of Criminal Prisoners 1877

Record number 152 shows Mr Hugh Daily (Daly), Tullabeg, receiving a sentence for two counts of assault commited on 8th June 1877 at 6.25pm at Tullabeg. Mr Daily, a carpenter aged 22, is described as having a fresh complexion with gray eyes and brown hair and able to read and write. He was brought before Gorey Magistrates on 8th June and sentenced to two calendar months in jail as a first time offender by magistrate James S. Scott. The record may be viewed here:
