It's The Real McCoy 2023

Renowned as one of Ireland’s favourite comedy plays, ‘It’s The Real McCoy’ follows the story of Madge Molloy and her life in a small cottage in rural Ireland over two days in the Spring of 1964.

Despite her modest home, Madge’s life is far from simple. Nosey neighbours, a gormless postman who wants to marry Madge’s only daughter, a priest with a tale from his past and a wayward husband who reappears after 40 years of absence are just some of the things she must face.

A Widow's Paradise 2020

A Widow’s Paradise’ by Sam Cree was staged on Friday 31st January, Saturday 1st February, Friday 7th February and Saturday 8th February 2020 in Camolin Parish Hall.

A farce in which five women travel to stay in a caravan in the Ards peninsula on a strictly ‘Ladies Only’ break while trying to get away from their male partners.

The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley 2019

The hit comedy, The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley by Jimmy Keary, was staged in Camolin Parish Hall on Friday February 1st, Saturday February 2nd, Friday February 8th and Saturday February 9th 2019.

This drama is set in rural Ireland and focuses on Gabriel Foley, a middle-aged bachelor farmer, who is unlucky in love.

The Tinker's Wedding 2018

The Tinker’s Wedding was staged on Sunday 8th July in Camolin Parish Hall.

It is a two-act play by the Irish playwright John Millington Synge. The drama unfolds on a roadside near a chapel in rural Ireland. It takes up the story of Sarah Casey, a young tinker woman, the beauty of Ballinacree, who makes a bid for respectability by marrying her long time companion and fellow tinker, Michael Byrne. The marriage is arranged with the local Priest but proceedings do not develop as planned.

Nobody's Talking to Me 2017

Ballyoughter Drama Group presented their fourth production, Nobody’s Talking to Me, on Friday January 26th, Saturday January 27th, Friday February 2nd, and Saturday February 3rd in Camolin Parish Hall.

It’s Mattie and Maggie Conway’s 50th wedding  anniversary.  To the outside world, they’re a “happy couple”. However, they haven’t spoken to each other for 10 years.  The local Parish Priest arrives to renew their wedding vows. What follows is pure comedy.

The Maiden Aunt 2016

Ballyoughter Drama Group staged the three-act comedy ‘The Maiden Aunt’ by Jimmy Keary in Camolin Hall on Friday 29th, Saturday 30th, and Sunday 31st January 2016.

Gertie O’Grady, a retired teacher and spinster, comes to stay with her niece, Mary Murphy, after a spell in hospital. Mary tries to persuade her aunt to make a will. When Gertie apparently ‘dies’, Mary’s husband, Dan comes up with an elaborate plan to get their hands on her money.

A Wake in the West 2015

Ballyoughter Drama Group staged the comedy ‘A Wake in the West’ by M.J. Ginnelly in Camolin Hall in 2015.

The play is set in a small fishing village in the west of Ireland during the 1970s.  It tells the story of Tom Healy who has drank himself to death and now wishes his grave to be a watery one by requesting cremation and the scattering of his ashes at sea.

This dying request torments his family and the hilarious scenes that follow are brought to life by the excellent cast of Ballyoughter Drama Group.
